Dear Mr. David Elleray
Thank you for your quick reply.
Please consider these reasons and potential benefits of my proposal in order to change the straight lines and curve them to match the organic features and trajectories of both ball and players. Nowadays lots of crosses and passes describe curved lines, and some of these beautiful actions concur with straight lines, stopping the game to give the ball possession to the opposite team through hand throws. Result, prettier game play and longer ball possession.
The goal: following the previous change, of turning the poles round, I feel that the combination of possible arches made by the goalkeeper´s jump and arm movement, should be translated to the goal posts and bar, thus rounding the upper corners by bending both bar and poles, but maintaining the goal area. This would benefit the goalkeeper, increasing the possibility of their goal saves. Result: Fairing goalkeepers with better chances of great goal saves.
The goalkeeper area: Like in futsal or handball, the protective area for the goalkeeper action should also be round, serving a radius of action for the goalkeeper exits from the goal line thus maintaining the same area but. Result, better goalkeeper protection.
The penalty area: the protective area for dangerous strikes, should be round, because the areas at the edges or with low angle with the goal line are not as prow to result in goal. Result: better protection against some fouls. Lesser punishment of less decisive fouls.
Hope these reasons and predicted benefits sustain clearly this proposal.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to further enhance this proposal.
